Nghi Son Refinery in Vietnam ships first gasoil to domestic market

25 May, 2018

The 200,000b/d Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical recently started shipment of gasoil that fulfill the domestic specification. The company had earlier started shipment of 92RON and 95RON gasoline.

The newly constructed refinery is the second refinery after the 148,000b/d Dung Quatrefinery. Idemitsu Kosan, Kuwait Petroleum International, PetroVietnam and Mitsui Chemicals invested in the new refinery, and the project had started in April, 2008. Its trial operation started at the end of February this year.

Due to the start of shipment of gasoil to the domestic market, some refiners in Asia such as in South Korea that exports oil products to Vietnam speculated that export volumes would decline in the near future.
